Multimodal Traffic Management Cluster (MTMC) Webinar: Network and Traffic Management—Current Status and Future Directions in EU R&D Activities 🚦 took place on 📅 12th of November 2024 at 🕚11:00 – 12:30 CET, online.

The webinar was focused on exploring the future of traffic management in Europe. As urban mobility evolves, we stand at a pivotal moment where a seamless, multimodal approach—integrating cars 🚗 , public transit 🚌 , cycling 🚲 , and walking 🚶‍♀️ —becomes essential for efficient, safe, and sustainable transport!

Participants had the chance to gain insights on:

🔹 The latest developments and research in European traffic management.
🔹 How intelligent transport systems (ITS), technology, data, and policy can build resilient transport networks.
🔹 Real-world applications and upcoming innovations from leading EU projects (ACUMEN Project, DELPHI_EU project, DIT4TraM Project, FRONTIER EU Project, Orchestra2020, SYNCHROMODE Project, TANGENT Project).

📌TANGENT Project: A dynamic, multimodal traffic management dashboard, featuring pilot cities such as Rennes, Lisbon, Greater Manchester, and Athens.

➡️ Second-Generation R&D Projects: Latest Advances
Updates on ongoing initiatives that build on previous project outcomes.
📌 SYNCHROMODE Project: Development of a traffic management toolbox, with use cases in Madrid, Thessaloniki, and the Province of South Holland.
📌 ACUMEN Project: Leveraging digital twins and AI to enhance traffic management, with experimental labs in Athens, Amsterdam, Helsinki, and Luxembourg.
📌 DELPHI_EU project: Insights into the DELPHI town project and the creation of efficient governance frameworks for traffic management.

DELPHI project was presented during the webinar by Ms. Sofia Kokonezi, from ICCS, who delivered a presentation entitled “Insights into the DELPHI town concept and the creation of efficient governance frameworks for traffic management“.
