The Hellenic Institute of Transport (CERTH-HIT) and the Hellenic Institute of Transportation Engineers (HITE) co-organized the “12th International Congress on Transportation Research” (ICTR 2025), which was held on October 16-18, 2025, in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The spotlight theme of the 2025 Congress was ‘Transportation in the era of Artificial Intelligence’. The conference explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming transportation through advancements in mobility, autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure, sustainability, ethical considerations and supply
chain optimization, shaping the future of urban mobility and logistics.
The ICTR has been a major event in the field of transportation research and development for the past 23 years. The local and international academic and research community, along with the public sector and industry have actively participated and supported the ICTR series for over two decades. ICTR 2025 aspired to host innovative research and development work in transportation and mobility, in Greece and abroad.
ICTR 2025 presented cutting-edge research in transportation, bridge research findings with policymaking efforts, and fostered knowledge exchange at both local and international levels. It drew insights and developed recommendations for translating research outcomes into real-world applications. Practitioners interested in showcasing applications and practical uses of research are highly encouraged to participate.
