The DELPHI project participated in the ITS European Conference 2026, held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 27 to 29 April 2026, contributing to discussions on the future of intelligent transport systems and sustainable mobility across Europe.
DELPHI was featured in the Special Interest Session SIS42: “Driving the Future of Multimodal Traffic Management: EU Innovations for Sustainable and Resilient Mobility”, which brought together leading European research and innovation projects working to enhance mobility efficiency, interoperability, and resilience through advanced digital solutions. DELPHI was represented by Giannis Kanellopoulos, from ICCS.
The session explored how European-funded initiatives are addressing key mobility challenges by promoting integrated traffic management approaches, fostering multimodal transport services, and supporting the transition towards more sustainable transport systems. Participants discussed innovative solutions for data sharing, traffic optimisation, interoperability between mobility platforms, and the integration of passenger and freight transport services.
During the session, DELPHI highlighted its vision of a federated network of platforms enabling seamless passenger and freight intermodality. The project presented its ongoing work on fostering interoperability across mobility ecosystems, facilitating trusted data exchange, and supporting the development of more connected and user-centric multimodal mobility services.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity for DELPHI to engage with policymakers, transport authorities, industry stakeholders, researchers, and fellow EU-funded projects. Through these exchanges, the project strengthened its collaboration network and contributed to the broader European dialogue on digitalisation, sustainability, and innovation in transport.
Participation in ITS European Conference 2026 further reinforces DELPHI’s commitment to supporting the objectives of the European Green Deal, the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy, and the development of interoperable mobility ecosystems that deliver benefits for citizens, transport operators, and public authorities alike.
