The 16th ITS European Congress 2025, held in the beautiful city of Seville, Spain, took place between 19th to 21st of May 2025.

Organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe, this year’s Congress brought together thought leaders, innovators, policy-makers, and transport professionals from across Europe and beyond to explore the future of smart mobility and digital transport solutions. The flagship 2025 event for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in Europe, united 3000 experts from mobility, technology, and policy to advance key European mobility and sustainability initiatives.

With over 100 sessions, the European Programme Committee delivered an insightful agenda that reinforced the Congress’s thought leadership and highlighted the urgent need to accelerate ITS deployment across Europe.

DELPHI, along with the projects of MTMC Cluster, participated in a Special Interested Session, namely Session 56: “Next generation multimodal traffic management: results and a roadmap”, on Wednesday 21st of May 2025.

This session explored how cutting-edge research is transforming into real-world solutions for managing multimodal passenger and freight traffic. Results from three EU-funded projects were showcased: ACUMEN Project, SYNCHROMODE project, and DELPHI project. In addition “Multimodal Traffic Management: Roadmap for 2030 and Beyond,” developed through the Multimodal Traffic Management Cluster (MTMC), was also unveiled.
