During the opening day of the RTR Conference, Giannis Kanellopoulos, Multimodal Logistics and Maritime Operations Division Leader at ISENSE – the DELPHI Project coordinator- contributed to the session titled “Smart enforcement for resilient, sustainable and more efficient transport operations.”. The session was a joint event together with the projects KEYSTONE and SETO Project. The discussion focused on how closer integration between enforcement authorities, transport operators, and planners can unlock the value of currently disconnected transport data, enabling more informed and timely decision-making across mobility and logistics networks.
The presentation introduced DELPHI’s vision for strengthening passenger and freight intermodality through a federated ecosystem of digital platforms. This approach allows diverse stakeholders to exchange data securely and collaborate without requiring centralized control, fostering both trust and operational efficiency along the transport chain.
Key aspects of the project were highlighted, including its governance model, interoperable system architecture, and advanced analytics designed to support optimization across modes. Results from pilot activities illustrated tangible improvements, such as more accurate congestion forecasting, shorter travel and delivery durations, and reductions in emissions and operational expenses.
The session concluded with insights into DELPHI’s policy and technical recommendations, which aim to support the evolution of coordinated, multimodal traffic management strategies across Europe. The full presentation to download is available here.
